So... the Pico Pi W can connect to Wifi. What to do with that? Hmmm...
Here's a silly project, make of it what you will....
I can't imagine why I'd need this, but the Raspberry Pico Pi W can run Circuit Python. Circuit Python has a httpserver library, so I did this
- AllStories.py - web server writes stories
- fstory.py - create fantasy story
- sample.env - copy to .env and fill in correct values
- starships.py - create SF story
You need to copy these files to your pico pi w running Circuit Python (change sample.env to ".env" and fill in your Wifi SSID and password.) You'll also need the adafruit_httpserver library copied to the lib/ directory on the pico pi w.
Run AllStories.py using Thonny and you can learn what IP is being connected to:

Every time you connect a new pair of stories will be delivered, for example:
Star System: Struve 2398 B# Distance: 11.491 light years ----- USS Pantheon returns from Struve 2398 B# with supplies and runs out of fuel and just barely reaches destination stardock. Word comes that the Dandaeds ambassador has just died on Brozalea. ----- The elf wizard Vomdoick Emberminer travels to Water Leopard Woods finding Misty Satchel Alarm! The Tusked Venom Drake materializes from the edge of Fort de la Sarmont! Even though Vomdoick Emberminer fails to find a weapon like Isolated Copper Sabre, the monster shuffles away to Speckled Squirrel Grove
